May is Mental Health Awareness Month - Get Involved!

Double Your Impact This May—Thanks to the John C. & Katherine B. Miller Charitable Fund!

We have BIG news.
Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of the John C. and Katherine B. Miller Charitable Fund, every dollar you donate to MHA Lakeshore this May will be matched—dollar-for-dollar—up to $12,500. That means your impact goes twice as far in supporting critical mental health services across our community.

Let’s turn compassion into progress and awareness into meaningful action during Mental Health Awareness Month. In a world where millions silently struggle, you have the power to help us shine a brighter light on mental health—and now, your gift will go even further.

Turn Awareness Into Action

Mental Health Awareness Month is not just a date on the calendar—it’s a nationwide movement to:

  • Raise awareness about the realities of mental health conditions.
  • Encourage action in our homes, schools, workplaces, and communities.
  • Break the stigma that too often leads to silence and shame.
  • Educate individuals about mental health signs, symptoms, and treatments.
  • Empower people to seek help and know they are not alone.
  • Advocate for better policies, access to care, and stronger support systems.
  • Donate to MHA Lakeshore to strengthen the services that change lives.

Why It Matters

Mental health affects how we think, feel, and connect—but for too many, struggles remain hidden. This May, we’re asking you to help us ensure that emotional well-being is prioritized just as much as physical health.

Your donation supports programs like:

  • K–5 Resilient Classroom Project
  • High School Student Ambassadors
  • Suicide Awareness & Prevention
  • Information & Assistance Services
  • Support Groups for Individuals and Families

And starting this fall, we’re expanding the Resilient Classroom Project into middle schools—reaching even more youth during a crucial stage of development. One in five youth experiences a mental health condition, and suicide is the second leading cause of death for individuals aged 10–24. Your support brings early intervention, education, and hope.
